Key Technology Related Laws
At Triple Crown Performance Lab, we find it essential to comply with technology-based laws and regulations. This page will outline several U.S. laws and policies that influence our operations, ensuring our leaders and team members remain compliant.

Understanding HIPPA: Protecting Health Information
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) set the national standard for protecting sensitive health information. According to a report from the Department of Health and Human Services, more than 700 healthcare breaches, each involving over 500 individuals occur annually (Alder, 2026). At Triple Crown Performance Lab, we handle sensitive client health data, and it is our duty to protect these individuals and their information. Our leadership commitment related to safeguards, confidentiality practices, and maintaining robust security protocols helps prevent unauthorized access and ensures compliance with federal requirements.

COPPA Compliance: Safeguarding Children's Online Privacy
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) defines rules that are put in place for managing personal information that is collected from any child under 13 years of age. Beginning in April 2026, websites will need to be in full compliance with new FTC mandated laws regarding expanded information protection and mandated data sharing consent as it relates to children under 13. Violations can result in a fine of up to %53, 088 per child (Elsop, 2025). Since we engage with young children through fitness training programs, we prioritize the adherence to these guidelines. Our leadership ensures that our digital systems remain compliant with COPPA standards while keeping child safety at the forefront of our operations.
Why Leadership Should Pay Attention
Leadership must consider these laws, regulations, and policies because they define how we operate safely, ethically, and responsibly. By remaining informed, leaders are able to help the organization reduce legal and operational liabilities, while protecting client data. This awareness shows that we remain aligned with the standards expected of our training organization.
